News Report

This was the first 'draft' of our news report for the trailer. However, after a discussion with the group we decided that it did not look like an actual news broadcast as news broadcast usually feature the news channels name in one of the corners of the screen and some form of logo and colour scheme to create a form of house style that is used to recognise the news channel. For example, Sky News can be identified by its primary blue and white with some red and yellow on its channel. Another example is BBC News which uses the red and white house style consistently across its news channel, BBC World News, BBC News 24 and BBC News Parlianment and BBC One. All news channels feature the words "BREAKING NEWS" in capitals as it shows that the channel has the most recent news.

After looking at news reports from the most watched news channels in the UK we decided that we were to include the words "BREAKING NEWS" in capitals to make the news report appear more authentic, we also decided to add some form of logo and graphic for which the news channel could be identified as. Another feature we found news channels to also have was the scrolling text broadcasting news stories that related to what the broadcaster was talking about or a separate breaking news story, we also noticed that the words "BREAKING NEWS" were before the scrolling text grabbing the attention of the audience. After deciding to include these features we made a second draft for the news report which is the video below on the left, on the right is a quicktime recording of the logo, graphics and text being added to the report showing how it was made.

Finally we had to make sure the news report fitted into the trailer so we decided to place it onto a TV, this was edited on Premiere Pro and it can be seen how it was made on the video on the right, with the final trailer on the left.
